Brie
Sharpham DairyThe inception of Sharpham Brie can be traced back to the inspiration from Maurice Ash. Crafted with a unique Coulommier twist, this cheese has been produced by hand at Sharpham since 1981, making it one of the pioneering varieties of its kind in the UK.
The vibrant buttercup yellow hue of the cheese is thanks to the fresh milk from our Jersey cows, feeding on the rich pastures of Dartmoor.
This mould-ripened cheese starts off firm, rich, and creamy, then matures into a softer texture with distinctive mushroom flavors and a refined chicory endnote.

About Sharpham Dairy
Marking four decades of artisanal cheesemaking in 2021, Sharpham Dairy is renowned for crafting a select array of prize-winning English cheeses on its picturesque estate by the River Dart in South Devon.
The venture was born from the vision of Maurice Ash, the estate’s owner and a devoted environmentalist, who sought to recreate his beloved Brie using excess milk from his Jersey cows during a period of declining milk prices in the 1970s.
