About Lynher Dairies Cheese Co
Lynher Dairies, nestled in the quaint village of Ponsanooth in mid Cornwall and managed by Catherine Mead, is the birthplace of the distinctive Yarg cheese.
Named through a creative twist by Bodmin Moor farmer Alan Gray, who stumbled upon a 17th-century recipe for nettle-wrapped cheese in his attic, Yarg is simply Gray spelled in reverse.
